The reason why people  buy diamonds is not  because diamonds are rare, or precious.  It  is because advertising agencies have cleverly devised marketing techniques which  has convinced millions of people  that diamonds are a “girls best friend.” Many women have been taught and have come to believe  that if your spouse doesn’t buy  you diamonds , than he doesn’t love you.    The reality is that diamonds are worthless gems that are as common as  beach sand.  So if your spouse doesn’t buy you diamonds it’s most likely because he does in fact love you.
