NYPD ISSUES “BADGE AND GUN” TO ROBOTIC POLICE DOG

The NYPD began testing a strategic, tactical robotic police dog. The robotic dog called the digidog was designed and manufactured by Boston Dynamic company and is priced at $75,000. The NYPD reportedly dispatched the robotic dog on limited occasions. Once in an incident involving a shooting, and the other to deliver food during a hostage situation. The robotic dog is controlled and navigated remotely using panoramic cameras equipped with pan, tilt, and zoom features.
