On January 17, 1961 Patrice Lumumba,Congo’s First Prime Minister, was savagely murdered at the behest of the United States and Belgelium. Patrice Lumumba was killed due in part to his refusal to relinquish control of his nations resources to the colonizers. Executed alongside Lumumba were Joseph Okito and Maurice M’Polo. RIP Patrice Lumumba!
