Attorney General Garland Hint’s Federal Charges Against Derek Chauvin

During a recent ABC News interview with reporter Pierre Thomas, U. S Attorney General Merrick when asked did not rule out the possibility of the DOJ pursuing civil rights criminal charges against Derek Chauvin in the event of an acquittal. The former Minnesota police officer currently stands trial in the death of George Floyd. The jury is deliberating and is expected to return a verdict soon. AG Garland also highlighted the ongoing pervasive threat posed by domestic white supremacist terrorist groups in the United States.
