Andrew Young on the Confederate Monument Debate – Substance over Form

August 24, 2017 By Contributor

Ambassador Andrew young has a point. Even if we disagree with  the display of Confederate monuments ,the fact of the matter is  taking down statues we don’t like  does nothing to change the reality of   black suffering .  We need to keep our eyes on the primary objective which is to achieve a complete and total freedom ,  to choose and direct our own destiny.

Let “them” have their statutes. And “we” on the other hand must  focus our attention on building an economic infrastructure. Create jobs and provide much needed professional services to our community.

No longer can we waste energy fighting against things we don’t like or  want, rather we should  use our energy building and creating  our own future so that we can provide  a tangible legacy  so that we may  to give it to our children.
